Brickline Greenway
The concept of the Brickline Greenway began as far back as the Spring of 2020 to elevate it from its former name, the Chouteau Greenway. Not only designed for easy access, complimentary use for exercise, and commuting but also towards equitable economic opportunities.
The Greenway’s mission is to create dynamic & active spaces as regional hot spots for collaboration, increasing civic pride for everyone.
The soon-to-expand Greenway boasts plenty of ways to enhance its environmental performance, from stormwater capture and conveyance. Boosting water quality to urban tree canopy growth – as well as rain gardens, native meadows, and community food gardens on the north side.
Unused city space will transform into a rich public resource with diverse landscapes adopting new microclimates while increasing surface porosity.
The Greenway aims for an impressive balance between ecology improvements alongside social & educational opportunities.
America’s Center Convention Complex Renovations
St. Louis County legislators jumped on the chance to increase tourism and revenue in their exciting city by issuing bonds worth $105 million for a convention center expansion downtown.
They also issued an additional $40 million for constructing a recreational facility up north. It’s all part of the ambitious AC Next Gen renovation project.
America’s Center on Washington Avenue is getting a significant facelift. A new 61,000-square-foot ballroom and meeting area, as well as 20,000 square feet for special events like receptions.
Plus, there’ll be additional exterior changes, including the addition of an outdoor pavilion. An 80,000 square feet of green space, which will double exhibit space loading docks.
From expanding their facilities to hosting significant events, all this activity could generate over $394 million in direct spending. Creating a 4,950 full-time jobs while providing 491,000 hotel room nights per year.
