4200 Laclede

This historic building at 4200 Laclede Avenue was a turn-of-the-century pharmaceutical building that was home to the Luyties Homeopathic Phamaceutical Company.

The structure was built in 1915 under the watchful eye of architect Frederick Bonsack. The building was unique in that it used concrete for both structural and a finished material. This resulted from what was believed to be the outcome from a major fire at the first factory in the neighborhood.

Following the fire the neighborhood President demanded that future buildings be fireproof. Bonsack complied and built the structure with concrete throughout...very unusual for the time. The building was occupied for 86 years until the company went out of business.

The building was reborn as 18 luxury lofts. These amazing lofts feature new plumbing, wiring and gas utilities as well as huge 12x12 windows, 18-foot ceilings and gleaming hardwoods. The building amenities include controlled access, attached garage with assigned parking, fitness room and large rooftop terrace with great views.

Residents are afforded the convenience of walking to Juniper for a nice meal. Shopping for furnishings can be easy by walking to IKEA on Forest Park Avenue. Grocery shopping is blocks away at Whole Foods. Within walking distance are many of the areas award winning restaurants and entertaining venues as well as Forest Park with its many outdoor activities and museums.
