Alexander Lofts

Built in 1906 and occupied by the Spool Cotton Company this 5 story building was renovated into eight spacious lofts in the early 2000's. Spool Cotton Company served as the home office and sales distribution center for silk and cotton thread for the Washington Avenue Garment District and througout the contiguous United States.

The company maintained its prominence in the garment industry until around 1949 when New York City became the fashion center of the U.S. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The building is conveniently located one block off of Washington Avenue, two blocks from Schnuck's, and a short 5 minute walk to Rooster, Bella's Frozen Yogurt, Mizu, Sen Thai, Flamingo Bowl, Over/Under and many other restaurants, bars and entertainment venues.

Alexander affords residents views, location, convenience in the heart of the loft district. This is definitely one building to add to your must see list.
