Built in 1907 the building was originally known as the King-Brindsmade Mercantile Company. The building was home to many companies over the years including the King Bee Hat Company and Superior Typesetting Company.

Most people notice the faded advertising on the west side of the building for companies like Wrigley Spearment Gum, King Bee Hats, Buettners Seventh and Washington and A-K Tablets.

This is just one more 100+ year old building that shaped the Washington Avenue Garment District. The building is just a short few blocks walk to the home of the new St. Louis City Soccer Club and one block further to the St. Louis Wheel and St. Louis Aquarium.
